House vandalized over the weekend......

We've been having problems with some punks in our neighborhood recently. One of the local kids began hanging around with a real delinquent dirtbag kid and now it seems all we find is vandalisim. Last month the kid who lives near me (he was a good kid at one time) got busted for tagging road signs and shooting at cars with a paintgun. Word got out that I called the cops, which wasn't true. I found paint balls in my yard and told the kid I "would" call the cops if it didn't cease. Just so happened I confronted him with this a week before he got nailed. A neighbor woman down the road got her car damaged by them and she was the one who dialed the police.
Anyway, this past Sunday I was ironically out in the garage working on my M37 when a car came down our dead end street. Not paying it much attention I went about my business, that was until I heard the distinct sound of BBs being fired at my house, one of which either hit my truck or hit something else inside the garage and made the telltale metal "clink". I saw no damage to my truck although I am not concerned about damage to it from a bb gun. I found a bb on the floor and ran outside to see a white car speeding away. I immediatley called the cops and gave them the description but of course there isn't much that can be done. They weren't caught as far as I could tell. I was so taken back by this brazen act that now, every car that comes down our street gets my undivided scrutiny. This obviously was a message to me that they think I am the one who got their friend in trouble. However if they think I am afraid now they have another thing coming. The sad thing is I used to go out of my way to help these kids. I welded a go-kart frame for one of them, and also welded a muffler back onto another's motor bike. And this is the thanks I get. My next door neighbor got her porch light shot out twice by these same punks. I am concerned for my kid's safety as they play outside alot. So now, whenever I see the local punks on their motorcycles, they are going to get turned into the law instead of me going out and talking and trying to be friendly with them. I know its not all the kids doing this, but the one or two bad apples has just ruined it for all as far as I'm concerned. Drive-bys with BBguns is something that I will not tolerate, period....Thanks for letting me vent.
