The bolts that go on top of the fuel sender seem to
be a wierd 1/4" X 24 tph. NC being 1/4-20 NF being 1/4-28.
They look original and most every bolt I've come across on this sled
are original. What do I have here?
tnx.

If we are on the same page & talking original M37 fuel tank, the original screws that hold the fuel guage sending unit on the top of the tank are #10x32 tpi. This is a national fine thread standard size. The only thing I can figure is someone must have over-sized the holes cutting new threads of a different size. May be a metric thread, not sure.

I seem to have 10-32 around the sender . These are the 12 bolts that hold the plate that holds the sender.

Something not adding up here. On the original tank, the sender is separate & not located on the plate. You must be talking about the vent valve that is mounted on the pick up tube plate? The pick up tube plate is held on the tank by 12 screws. The size is typically #12x24 tpi. I bet you are confusing #12 screws with 1/4" screws. The diameters of the 2 are very close to the same. I would say pick up some new #12 machine screws of the correct length, problem solved.

Yep, I think you nailed it.
6mm works out at 25tpi.
Must be 12-24.

You beat me to the draw again on that one, Charles.

Once I figured out that he was referring to
machine screws instead of
bolts, I was going to point him in the right direction. It's amazing how many folks refer to all threaded fasteners as "bolts," isn't it? I once needed some cheese-head machine screws for an antique outboard motor I was restoring for a friend and the kid at the hardware store didn't know what I was talking about. I showed him one that I had salvaged and he said "Oh! Oversized carburetor bolts!"

We bought ours at ACE, and they were not the easiest to size up at the store because there was not much left of them after we got them out to renu the tank.
