Can you tell me what the welded brackets are on the top of the windshield? They are next to the cab top strap brackets that swivel on bolts. These look similar but are welded. Hard top maybe?

Can you post a pic? My windshield is behind a pile of parts and I can't look at it. But could it be for when you fold the windshield down or are they on the inside?

They're the hold-down brackets for use when you have the windshield folded down. The latches on top of the hood hook into 'em and keep it from bouncing around.

Lifer - you are right... we have never put the w/s down yet, but we went and looked at the swing and bingo! Thanks!

Thanks Guys,

Hah-Hah! Are we ever finished? I still need to remove my gas tank, straighten out the rear cross member, & re-assemble the bed. Oh & weld a new drivers side windscreen up-right, & on & on ........

Hey Keith,
I'm just guessing, but your rig has never had a hand-made hard top has it? Your paint job looks very well done. What camera are you using for pictures?

Bruce -thanks - the paint is standard acrylic enamel with no flattner added - 2 coats of epoxy, 2 coats primer, 2 coats a/e. The camera is a simple off the shelf point and click Kodak. When we bought the truck, it had no roof so I don't think it ever had a hard top on it. Right now we are struggling with the soft top rear bow not clearing the door opening in the garage - looks like we may have to modify our opening to drive in!

You didn't notice, the uprights are just a little adjustable, how much you need I don't know?
