We had some visitors to our local airport - they were on their way to an airshow. They all arrived and left under their own power. :D

When they were parked, the public could come in (for $12) to tour & touch. For $650/ half hour, you could go for a flight in the B-17. For $3,200, you could ride (and even fly! if you knew how) in the P-51 Mustang.

Fun! Check out my pictures at:

Videos were taken with my phone - that's why they are such high quality. :P

What a group. I really like the Mustang. Must be a B or C model. It is marked for the 307th fighter squadron based in Italy in WW2. Must have been great to hear all those engines like the Mustangs V12 and the round ones in the bombers!!

Thanks for the post and the mention of a good bunch of folks. The Collings Foundation is a good group. We had them at our museum in August, They sold 12 rides in the P51!!! Who has that much play money? I got to help on an engine swap on their B-24 a decade back, earned me flight time in the B-17. Great fun :D

Just a guess? They have been here, at the Chesterfield County AP, but not for the last 3/4 years. Great shots!
