BATTERY CABLE GAUGE

What gauge should the battery cables be 1, 2, 1/0? My old ones are bare and too frayed to get an accurate measure.

1/0 is the correct gauge.

Thank you Charles. At todays wire prices I wanted to make sure I got the correct cable the first time

Yes , I admit I am still running a twelve volt machine, but I must get it running correctly first, before restoration to original voltage begins. But I did put two Ultima batteries in paralel in my battery box. Hmm, 2000 amp cranking power !
