if the part is expensive enough, it's not difficult to have the castings printed in sand, send to a foundry, and have new parts cast. would only be worth it if the part was either very difficult to get or cost probably $800+

there is factory 2 barrel manifold from 50s cars. and you can buy dual one barrel manifolds aftermarket. maybe 3 one barrel set ups as well.

Random bit of data:
Started CC'ing the 57-59 passenger car head we picked up. It's supposed to be 8:1 and it has been lightly skimmed from what i can tell. The chambers look like they are around 69cc's.
Has anyone CC'ed a stock 6.7:1 M37 head? I'm curious to know what they come in at.

Does anyone have the hole pattern for the studs and ports of the intake/exhaust from the 230 engine? I'm putting one together right now but if someone had one ready to go it would save me some time

plasma cut a template today, it's going to be real close but I don't think it's perfect yet
actually, now i have a template that fits

I finally finished cc'ing a 230 cylinder head, P/N 1676337-1, it's a '57-'59 passenger car head with an original compression ratio of 8:1. The chambers were as follows:
1) 68.1cc
2) 74.7cc
3) 76.5cc
4) 75.6cc
5) 72.7cc
6) 69.1cc
I believe my #'s are good within a cc. The thickness of the head at the corner bolt holes was 1.801", 1.800", 1.795", 1.793". The thinner side was on the valve's side of the head. There was some distortion/wear from the bolt bearing on the head's surface, so these #'s have some variability.
I'm very interested in what a stock M37 6.7:1 head's combustion chambers measure.
****************Can I talk someone into measuring one

I have shaved as much as .075 off the head. and added bigger cam. you must install cam and measure valve height before milling head to make sure valve don't slam into it. ;/) all these changes really wake these engine up. totally worth it in my experience. big rewards with very little investment. I thin would be cool if someone made a 4 barrel manifold. could run a lean 500 afb.

Really, a four barrel? Do you think it would work, have you tried it yet? I know if your did, you also did your brakes.
Happy New Year!

they make 4 barrel manifold for slant 6s (5 cubes smaller than 230) and dual weber kits for 4 bangers so why not? no I never tried it. 2 barrel would probably be enough in any situation but I like the way the AFB carbs perform. super reliable smooth power
