That is not an original xm708 I have seen it and have talked to the owner. It was a truck made by a town with an electric hydraulic dump bed. The owner is barry moses out of Kingston NH.. Nice truck but not one of the originals...

And there ya have it! I'm by no stretch of the imagination an authority on these, thanks for the heads up, glad somebody didn't buy it on my mistake. I'm very much just learning the M37 animal.

That's a cute truck, except for not looking like an XM-708

I need to update my website (now that it is back online...)... In the meantime, I have photos of my XM708 on my Facebook page..
I haven't fineshed the restoration on it by a long shot, but it does get out and about on a weekly basis (mainly making the run down to the dump with the household trash and/or riding the trails at the familly farm as we work on them so that they'll be ready for the Labor Day Weekend MV Rides and for the folks who ride horses/hike on them the rest of the year.

I'd add a photo or two to this thread, but I get an error message when I do ("Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached"). :(

Upload the picture(s) to your personal picture folder here on the website and I will help get it posted.

At the top of this page is the Pics section, if you haven't already set up an account there, you should. Just follow the prompts.

I was behind one on a flatbed here in Mid Coast Maine back in the Spring of 2008 or 2009. As I recall it had a black body and dump, followed it for a bit, and they finally turned off at garage on Rt 131 in Appleton, ME. Stopped and talked but don't recall any of the details - I was about to ship out to Alaska for 6 months on the ship, so everything was blurry then and to some point still is.

I noticed this older post about remaining XM708 dumps and thought I'd try to add pics of the "one in Kansas". It is being put into service hauling firewood in the winter and horse manure for the garden in the fall. Semi-retired with "lots of irons in lots of fires!"
I uploaded 3 pics to my gallery, but can't figure out how to include in this post.

Hi Steve,

I did a quick edit and added the pictures for you.

That is one nice looking truck. I think that we will need to see more pictures of her earning her keep around your property.

Steve

I had the truck your bed came off of before you bought it which was an xm708 and kinda wished I never hooked the guy up who parted the truck and sold the bed. I drove all the way from VT to Arkansas to get the cab and chassis that was left and your truck was owned by a mechanic that worked at the lake champlain transportation company the ran the ferries on the lake. I also loaned my gate to the previous owner because somebody misplaced the original gate ..Your truck definitely has an original xm708 bed on it !!!

Interesting tailgate.

Trying to add photos to my gallery sure is a frustrating process.
