I’d love to know how to get the nut on this screw after you get the sides on!

right now it is there just to keep everything straight. I assume that you can get to it from the bottom with an extension (been a while since I tore it apart).

I did mine, but I added several captive nutz, a couple were really a "you know what"! My plan was to weld original nutz to the bed and cross members.

got one side done, have you ever seen so many holes? It had/has two antenna mounts (it is an M42). Mounts will go back on- I'll have to see what else I can install- with all of my predrilled attaching spots.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!

I have pretty much figured out that the fuel filler tube needs to be attached to the side before you install the side, as I cannot get it in now. Luckily the side is only sitting there (test fit) to find out these kind of problems. everything else seems to fit fine.

Thanks for the tip. It works! I tried for 15 minutes trying to get it in from the top, never occured to me that it would go up from the bottom.

I am not using hardener . The paint is good, it takes a couple of months to truly dry hard. I'm happy with it- on my 5th gallon painting this thing!

A little paint and it will be like new!! This is after several hours of pounding trying to get it straight, worst part on the whole truck. I wish these things weren't so expensive, would like a better one. Took me several years to find this one (at a price I would pay). My truck didn't have a tailgate when I bought it, It is a mess.
