My drivetrain has never been a really good runner, I replaced my carb with a rebuilt one, both Zenith Model 29's, Rebuilt the starter once and replaced the flywheel at the same time. It's always been a bit of a dog, my mechanic wanted to rebuild it he also like the idea of a Diesel install, that is what I thinking, along with a Ranger Over-drive, like Cabel's rig.
Anyway, it isn't going to happen till spring or so.

nice mod! we have done that to many direct drive starters and the result is 100% recommendable. I have the original starter and is in good condition.
the original one makes the engine overrun so much that to my opinion the it's very appropriate. the 24v makes it easier. 12v direct drive starters requires huge amounts of current and because of that huge battery wires

@Bruce, I got a rebuilt ETW1 from John at Midwest years ago and it runs like a champ! Once I get the new timing chain and gear set installed it should run even better!

@Gary, I have a rebuilt ETW1, but I'm thinking with the compression on all but 1 cylinder, I'm going to need a re-build or a replacement.
