Yeah I'll put it in storage, it's an early one. But I'm going to use the soft top at first, I'm going to have the guys fix up the hard top someday, fat mat it and put a nice liner in it etc.. I like that the top comes off these trucks so I may not end up using it. I want to eventually have a sail shop near me in Sausalito that works with canvas to put a 3M insulation layer and a liner on the soft top too, to help with heat/cold and sound.

Yeah thanks, I saw a few trucks with the combination and I knew I had to do it, I found some XZL tires at a shop on ebay in Norfolk, VA. I believe they still have some if anyone is interested. I think they must be the best tires available for this wheel size, they are used by Euro militaries. I have to start thinking about what to do with the 230 flathead, transfer case and tranny. Does anyone here know a place that would buy them to keep at stock? I would hope someone could use them, I'm not trying to make a ton of money from them, I'd rather they go to a good home. This 230 is an industrial version with sodium valves, I bought the truck from a federal fire fighter who bought it from work when they got rid of them. I have the paperwork for the engine being rebuilt so it's pretty fresh.

Hi Morgan,
Some of the vendors might have a use for your old drivetrain; PM sent regarding your 230.
Thanks,
Gary

I know he starts it up and warms it up every couple weeks or so, it hasn't driven anywhere in a while but it starts and runs fine. I can look for the receipt, I know I had it in the information he gave me.

I have already given Andy some parts and once we remove the whole drivetrain I will give him all that stuff if he wants. We just figured out a few things, I bought a new 6 speed Chevy tranny a couple days ago, we have had the 4BT Cummins for a little while already. We still need a transfer case and the adaptor plate is being made. We have 4BT engine mounts for a K5 Blazer that we are modifying. We are lucky to have a machine shop next door to my friends shop and they can do anything we need like drive shafts, they have worked on the combat rims a bit actually.

Yeah it looks great, I have been working for a month straight so we need to find some time. They are going to test fit it soon I think and then the machinist next door can modify the mounts. You can have money or time, not both. I don't want it to be too loud so we'll see about what we need to do, I've heard of big rig mufflers on them.
