Filled your envelope with several packs after receiving it today, will mail it Friday.

I figured I'd tell this story, I promised Carter I would anyway.
Some time in the distant past, around 1975 my employer, Baltimore's International Culinary Arts Institute (now defunct, so I don't mind naming names) was just starting out, we had lots of space & nearly no equipment.

My Boss/Supervisor, Head Chef, Lead Instructor, Chef Tony Andrews and I were Procurement Chefs to the max. We went to auctions, salvage depots etc.
We had the most/best luck at Maryland Salvage Depot, in Jessup, MD.

We climbed over so much greasy grease laden fryers/ovens/three compartment sinks, counter tops and tables, S/S all of it. We landed nearly all of the items we needed, after measuring and a few reservation tags the goods were ours, or actually the city's.

One thing that caught our attention was an oven that had rails on it, all around the perimeter, it came off of a submarine, tony being a former Swabby and me a Zoomie, we could not pass it up. It had some issues, it was made to run off of batteries, so it had to be converted from DC to AC. The oven only had two shelves and they were odd sized and the top had four elements/rings. It was so inefficient, water wouldn't boil and everything burned in the oven..........But I am digressing, in our field trips to Jessup, I had noticed several pallets waist high, small boxes, w/the usual fed #'s, and a description. I punched my fist thru the top & pulled out a hand full of P-38's. (Sorry It Took so Long) Each box had 1,000 pieces in it.

The Salvage depot was not allowed to sell to me, so Tony put it on the schools acct. and I was the proud owner of a Battalion's worth of P-38's, I probably still have 900 of 'em!
This all started when Carter said he knew something like this had to have a story behind it, I tried to give it to him before, but hit the wrong key & lost it all!

Got mine today, Carter! Thank you very much. They are just what I needed to finish a couple of little projects on the truck and the radios.

Bruce, I knew there was a good story behind you having so many P38s, it's not like you went down to the local surplus emporium and bought hundreds to give away so I thought I'd ask.
