Both tubes were removed and re-sealed with Permatex High Temp Thread Sealer.
Applied resonable torque. Should be fine.

Thanks David, after investing a good bit of money at the machine shop and tons more money on new internal parts,
I was glad to hear the beast roar with oil pressure. Obviously I was worried about frying the bearings. I now
believe the loose oil pickup tube was sucking up "some" oil and did not allow the the bearings to run dry. Removal
of the bearing caps, rods and mains, showed oil dripping off the inside of the caps and bearing surfaces.

Just goes to show you that the smallest error, not tightening the tube correctly, can turn yur day into an
expensive learning opportunity.

That it can; BUT that is a lot cheaper than galled bearings due to oil starvation.
