But I had tubeless rims made with Budd Centers welded in and the rims have 16/8.0 stamped into them so what radial tubeless tires do I no have for an option? Somethins taller that 34 OD but I realize that 38 OD is not attainable since the Michelens are all gone.

Aparently the wider metric XZL's are available now from boyce equipment(was talked about on here recently). They would probably work for you with your slightly wider rims. They're around the 38" you want. There is a chance though that your rims may cause problems if the backspacing is too far off from the originals.

Thanks, So can I run the GOODYEAR Wrangler 37 x 12 16.5 on my Budd rims with tubes and flaps? :o

No - you cannot run 16.5" tires on 16" rims... not even with tubes & flaps. :D

You're probably talking about the Michelin XML 325/85R16 tires... Michelin specs it for a 9" rim minimum - I haven't seen the rims from Stockton that DAP had made, but they probably have a short height bead seat. The XML tires are designed for installation on rims with a taller/deeper height bead seat.

Let me try to attach a picture of my first Stockton built rim so you can see the rim.

Does my picture show what you consider a shortened height bead seat? Harley at Stockton told me this rim is considered a shallow drop rim which allows the backspacing to be really close to original since he can shift the location of the milled Budd Center to get the back space to just barely clear the drum or modified disk brake set up. Staying close to the original back space avoids adding side loads to the wheel bearing the original was not designed for. It also keeps the wheels from sticking to far out past the fenders. see next picture

Hey DAP:

What I'm referring to can best be explained here: http://eastsidecustomtruck.com/files/wheel-diagram.gif

The Inboard & Outboard rim bead seat are the areas of concern... the height of the bead seat is where you may have issues if trying to mount
the Michelin XML 325/85R16 tire - the Michelins have a taller bead in profile & MAY not seat properly on Stockton rims. You'll need to look at the Stockton rim you have
and compare the bead seat lip height to the taller lip height of bead seat on the stock M37 rim - see the difference in height?
