That's great Paul but for those of us who don't live in TX nor are we making any road trips there in the near future or the far distant future? Maybe you could be so kind as to grab a digital photo device (digital camera, cell phone) and take a couple pictures of the set up your talking about and post them here for all to see since some of us a travel challanged!

Yeah I knew somewhere I had it, I got it off the old USAF museum site before they changed to the new format a few years ago

So yes you can put duels on but they will stick out of the fender well. If you wanted to drive that on the streets here in Ohio you would need to extend the fenders out.

I AM INTERESTED ON THE DUALLY SETUP ALSO. THOUGH I HAVE GOTTEN THE NECESSARY INNER/OUTER NUTS, IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET THE TIRES FAR APPART FROM RUBBING EACH OTHER UNDER LOAD, WOULD BE BY INCREASING THE BUDD RIM BACKSPACING. YEAH, GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, I KNOW... AS FOR THE FENDER, I WOULD PROBABLY ADD A WIDTH OF THICK HARD FLAT RUBBER FROM INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS, BETEWEEN THE BED AND THE ROLLED EDGE. THIS WAY, IF I "TOUCH" AN OBSTICLE WHILE REVERSING WITH MY EXTENDED FENDERS IT WOULD HAVE SOME FLEXIBILITY AND PERHAPS NOT BEND TOO MUCH AS SOLID SHEETMETAL WOULD. STILL WORKING ON THE THOUGHT. :)

Yep just like that...or Steve's thought with rubber.

Looking at the B&W pick there doesn't seem to be much space between the tires on that set up. Rubbing may be the way it has to go if you want a dual set up. Personnaly I wouldn't do that. Duals on a duce and a half is fine, but 3/4 ton just looks ugly! IMHO

Hi I'm taking it your talking about doubling up the rear wheels,as I'm from the U.K. I'm presuming thats what you mean, ive attached a photo of the M37 heavily laden with dual wheels on ,looks great,i have a few spare wheels and was thinking about doing it this summer, doesnt sound that simple though...

IT IS IMPOSIBLE TO MOUNT THE TWO STOCK WHEELS WITH THE INNER-OUTER NUT. ONE NEEDS THE BUDD RIMS FROM THE M101 TRAILER THAT HAS A DIFFERENT BACKSPACING TO "KIND OF" CLEAR THE TIRES. I ASSUME THAT THE SETTUP WAS NOT USED FOR HAULING MORE WEIGHT IN THE SAME TRUCK, RATHER FOR MAKING THE TRUCK ABLE TO MOVE OVER LOOSE SURFACES (LIKE SAND) EASIER AND NOT SINK.
