If you are using all original type components, going by the procedure spelled out in the manual should get you there. Being tight was the part I never liked, but it's part of the price you pay when using the bronze cones on top. About the only plus side to using them is you don't have to go to the gym for a work out as often, you get one every time you drive your truck.
