Generator vs. Alternator

Don't forget that a generator has to start turning at some significant RPM before it can generate the needed current to charge batteries. A bit of a quirk with generators. Alternators will charge at any speed. Once you get your engine on, yank out the throttle a bit while it idles or take it for a spin around the block. You may see your needle bump into the green. If so, keep going and give your batteries a good recharge while cruzin' the strip :wink:
