vehicle ident number for M101A2

Post by m37jarhead »

I'm looking to buy an M101A2 trailer that has no title or data plates. Are there "vehicle identification numbers"
stamped or imprinted on the chassis or box that could be used to title the trailer?
Any thoughts appreciated.

I have just tore down my M101 to the frame. I noticed no stampings in the frame rails or tongue. I will look closer but my guess is probably not?

I have a M101A1 model also and restored it this past summer. I looked for Vin numbers on the frame and tongue after I stripped the old paint off it and could not find any. Like I said, I have a A1 model and cant speak for what my be on a A2...

Jerry

I have a 105 trailer missing the data tags and I have been wondering if there were Vin numbers somewhere on it? maybe someone out there might have a answer for that also, I have looked all over it ,but there is rust on the frame that might be hiding the numbers if I knew where to look. :?:

Don't know if it's any help but the m416 trailer that I did a frame-off resto on did not have any serial or vin numbers on it.
It appears that none of the smaller trailers had any kind of I.D. other that the data plate.

I have data plates with correct scews for a M105A2 if yours is missing. If your state requires a title I can't get one because Oklahoma dosen't require such except commercial / RV type trailers. As far as I know there are no other numbers except just for the data plates.

I finished tearing down my M101 this past week. I found no stamped numbers on the frame or tongue rails.

Thanks Joe and Sal.
Joe, are your data plates for an m101 or an m105?

Sal, thanks for checking and posting that no other numbers were found.
