Holiday Cheer. A beer on the bumper 2016/Catching up.

Post by HingsingM37 »

Greetings,

I hope all had a Merry Christmas and a great New Year. Back by popular demand is my holiday beer on the bumper. This years choice was a Shock Top Belgian White enveloped by the smoke of a Partagas 1845 Black Label. I sure do miss my Great Lakes Brewing Christmas Ale.

We had family visit from Ohio for the holidays. Here my gran-nephew and niece Nick and Liz eagerly await there M37 cruise on the NC backroads. The last time they were in the truck they were half this size. I gave them about a 30 mile ride and they loved it.

We went up to Ohio in October for my stepson's wedding. My brother -in-law Jim said "I think I have an old army lantern in a box, do you want it?" Low and behold a NOS gas fired Coleman. The lantern and accessories are in great shape other than the original mantle being long deteriorated.

The wife and I went picking a few weeks back and I scored this fine decontaminator bottle for a whopping $8.

I had some good fellowship with some forum members over the last few months. I talked to Bert last week for about an hour via phone. We had a great conversation and it was as if we had known each other for years. Last month Rich S and I went up to the Air Museum in Asheboro NC for their pancake breakfast and had a great time. It is amazing what you find in these small local museums. My thanks for the P/M's to everybody here who has been checking in. I wish you all a great 2017. It is nice to talk with folks who actually have an interest in history and participate in the MV hobby.

I have some PM to do to the rig over the next few months. I am plagued by yet another Newstar wheel cylinder that went bad in less than two years. I installed my siren and have to wire that up before Memorial Day. I can't wait to have that noise maker hooked up.

Until next time best wishes.

Nice to hear from you David!

The snow is falling steadily here in Utah; alas, my M37 tranny is out of the truck while I try to find time to free up the stuck gear that's plagued me the past month.

We had a nice Christmas and New Year too!
Thanks for checking in!
