Hi Uttas, I have a parts truck that has one of those brackets on the dash. It has a little rust on it but will clean up good. It might be awhile until I can work outside long enough to take it off though. It's supposed to get down to 9 degrees tonight and barely above freezing for the rest of the week.

Does your truck have the heaver springs for the drivers side to compensate for the spare tire being on that side?

Aren't the springs the same, just needs a spacer block (7376829, Group 1601.1) on the left side front spring-to-axle joint?

Agreed, the heavier springs were for the maintenance trucks, not the B1s with the door-mounted spare. That's why the spacer plates were added to the B1 left side springs.

Humm... I need to look at the truck I am working on. I swear it has an extra leaf.

Alan, thank you for the reply!! I knew someone must have one laying around!! I have never actually seen the spacer block on my truck. It is a factory B1, I only notice the differential top where the spring sits has a boss that makes it sit taller than the right in the front and back. Im sending you a PM.

Thanks

UTTAS

I actually thought about going out and pulling the part when it got to 34 degrees over the weekend but never made it out there. :)

Oh and it's been getting down to 3 and 4 degrees at night. Parts of my yard are turning into permafrost.

yeah, like the Tundra here in Upstate SC. Too cold to even work out in my garage.

Well typical for the south it got up to 66 degrees today. So got home early from work and got the bracket off. Photos for UTTAS.

Here are the two bolts that mount the bracket to the dashboard. These are really pitted.

Here are two shots of the bracket and the two long bolts that mount the bracket to the tire swing arm.

Sturmtyger380, do you also have the flat reinforcement plate (CC-1395992) that goes under the dash reinforcement bracket that UTTAS needs? If you have it and UTTAS doesn't need it, I'd be interested. Thanks!

Hi Elwood, Sure only two more bolts to take off. Do you need all four of the bolts? I had two of them on the post with the support bracket but not sure if Brandon needs them or not.

Thanks, Sturmtyger 380. I won't need any of the bolts; the specs are all in MWO ORD G-741 W7, so I will source some Grade 8 replacements locally.

EDIT: Oops, the specs for those bolts are not called out in the MWO. Maybe just PM me the dimensions?

Sturmtyger380, thanks for the photos. PM sent.

Nice that you get to work outside in January. We're barely above zero here, and with the wind chill, it's definitely below 0degF. :(

Guys,
Don't forget the internal "tubes" or standoffs that surround the bolts and prevent crushing the body work. Be careful not to drop 'em into the body too!
