1953 M37 Vietnam Guntruck or Stock M37

Post by WarrenD »

I'll be out of work at the end of next week, so the M37 must sell. I'll entertain all reasonable offers for it either as a guntruck or a stock M37.

I will sell this truck either as a guntruck or stock M37 with troop seats and top bows (no top canvas).

1953 Dodge M37 outfitted as a Vietnam convoy escort guntruck. Short box armor made out of MDO, edges filled looks like real steel without the weight. Comes with both M-60 airsoft guns, mounts and RT524 radio (radio is display, no guts). Comes with detachable side window armor (faux) panels and parade sign to hang from the front bumper. M-60's are stored in a wooden crate in the back of the truck.
The truck itself. 1953, long shifter handle and 24V alternator. Batteries are now new. Wheel cylinders and master cylinder were new in late 2010/early 2011. Engines runs strong, no oil smoke seen, slight consumption due to minor leaks around oil pan. Fuel pump is new civie pump. New custom radiator ($1K!) looks like the original but with extra cores. NOS driveshafts installed intermediate and rear with new u-joints. Gas tank redone by Gas Tank Renu, NOS sender and pick-up. Rear pinion seal replaced with Charles' kit, dry as a bone in the AZ desert!. New tires spring 2012 on sand blasted, primed and painted wheels. About 500 miles on them. NOS shocks front and rear. Passenger seat recovered, have covers and foam for drivers seat. Extras, troop seats (will need to be refinished) including the jump seat, cargo bows, front cargo canvass, cargo bow tie down straps and brackets, pioneer tool rack, extra drivers seat back, new water pump, various seals, u-joints, set of clear 24V headlights and a bunch of various things I can't think of right now. Re-done front brakes with new shoes and fresh turned drums.

I have over $20K into this truck and know it won't fetch that on the best day.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, Warren. I wish I had a place to put your truck! I hope you find a new home for your truck nearby so you can see it once in awhile.

In the meantime I'll ask a few people around here to see if any of the people who say they want a "nice" one will put their money where their mouth is.

Good luck, and I hope you have a speedy and painless recovery.

I'm sorry to hear that you have to let the truck go, but understand your reasoning. I wish you well now and in the future. Wish I had the money, but sadley I don't. I hope you find a buyer that will take good care of it. Good luck. Joe

Hi Warren,

That's one beautiful truck! Sounds weird calling a military truck "beautiful".
Really sorry to hear about your situation.....my best wishes when it comes to your health.
I've already got more M37s than I need....but someone has a chance here to pick up a real nice one!!!!

bob

Hey Warren,

I am so sorry to hear of your health issues and letting your M37 truck go.

This is one Bad A$$ truck and the best gun truck I have ever seen. You have the truck of a lifetime in your garage and I tip my hat to you.

I will add you to my prayers. Be strong my Brother, we are all pulling for you.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from MM and the crew, I'd list your truck for 18K and drop your price to get the sale, never know, you might even get what you want.....

Best Regards - MM :D

Thanks to all for your kind words and encouragement. While I have yet to know how this all will play out, I do know that the medical bills are mounting and even if I felt well enough to continue with my M37, I still must sell it to pay the debts.
