Wiring Diagram

Post by Tim Powell »

Hey Crew.
I've started installing the new wiring harness from Vintage Wiring Of Maine but am really struggling.
Anywhere I can find a few simple pictures of the routing?? Simple like for an old blind truckdriver!!

Tim, if you have the TM 9-8031-2 (Power Train, Body and Frame) and TM 9-8030 (Operation and Organizational Maintenance), there are photos and descriptions of the harness routing in both.

Starting on page 57 of TM 9-8031-2 there are photos and text [Section 53] on dressing a bare frame with the fuel lines, brake lines, and harness (runs down the right frame rail, with crossovers at the rear cross member and the transfer front cross member.

Hi Tim,

Depending on the year of your M37 there are a number of wiring harness with minor differences between them. That goes for both the front and rear harnesses. Some of the differences have to deal with the main light switch, which went from having two wiring plugs on the back to just one, which changed both harnesses. The ORD for the M37 (Not B1) shows 3 harness for the body (based on truck SN) and 3 for the chassis, not counting M43 and other variants.

Here's what I have for a wiring schematic........I think it's a B1 diagram because it has turn signal stuff on it.....but the rest of the diagram should be similar to the others.

regards,
bob

Thank You Elwood & Bob!
I want to say again thanks for all the help! I do not have turn signals as I'm trying my best to stay original. Another thing I do not have are the manuals. Guess it's time to buy a set! This will all help and my luxury is I don't get in a hurry!
I've got 2 speeds, slow & stopped.

Hi Kaegi,

Yes, you can find them at Saturn Surplus. Here's the link and you'll find them about half way down the page.

The stand alone, screw mounted ones, yes, there is are sources. It's the usual suspects; MWM and VPW (and Ebay) .

The in-line wire harness type, there is no source that I know of. You can always substitute a bolt on one for an in-line one by breaking your line and through routing it. A bit of a pain, but some times that what you have to do.

You might also try "Midwest Military" or "M-Series Rebuilders".
