Thanks, Bob.

I just assumed that you must have a couple of those lights by now.

Hi Elwood,

Yeah, with all the junk I've collected I can see how you'd think that. I've seen them many times at the meets, but was always focused on the hard-core M37 parts, so I don't have much in the way of "accessories". In case anyone is interested the trouble light we're talking about is sometimes called a "work light" and was made by the Cole Hersee company. There were many civilian versions available too, so you can find a civy and just put the military connector on the end and you're good to go. Oh.......don't forget to change the bulb to 24V or it will only light up real bright for second.

bob

Thanks, Bob. I see there's one on e*ay right now.

As M-42 likes to say, these trucks are like Barbie: you end up buying every accessory.

has anyone come up with a part # for the plug itself , an amphenol replacement? I have looked at the amphenol catalog and it seems like they make them, just not sure which one. My '54 does not have one of these- didn't even know there was such a thing- now I have to have one!

Hi 06,

I bought a NOS one from John at Midwest last year..........I believe he still has some. I think it was $15, but doesn't come with the cap..........just the socket and wire lead. The Amphenol socket won't have the wire lead attached.

Chris, I have the socket and cover and have no plans to reinstall into the truck. I will try to get some pics this weekend.

I just received my "auxillary power cable" from Midwest- still $15. I also ordered the map light from John- he has them.
On a side note, I just received some amphenol caps, newest edition I guess, they are made in China with numbers painted on instead of stamped. They are in Amphenol bags that appear legit. I hate chinese stuff

Has anyone found a source for the male plug- the one that goes on the light cord? Midwest says that he is running out and uses them for his lights, won't sell them individually anymore.
It appears that the part# in my bendix connector is for the main body only, no screw on connector or base cap.
