Are you sure that last picture was from VN???!!
That sure looks like George Mainieri from Vermont Commercial salvage.

Most of the reference pictures I've collected are pulled from vet and unit websites. I don't remember where this one came from but when I found it I labeled and filed it in the Vietnam section, I doubt I would have done that if it was a recent picture from a salvage yard.

Not a salvage yard. George was a seabee (NMCB27 CWB5) and was one of the
largest M37 parts dealers after his service. Got out of the service just before
his unit was sent to VN.

Do you have a way of contacting George to see if it is him? I don't know George but that would be really interesting if it is him, maybe he can give some in-site into the truck/markings.

George died 2.5 years ago and is really missed by the guys
who bought parts from him for over 40 years.
I asked a couple of friends to check the picture out to confirm.
