I forgot about needing a pump mount and pulley.
Going to the pull a part today I think

Having a hard time finding inexpensive multi groove pulleys and power steering pump bracket. And tension pulley.
I want to try and get air conditioning someday

I already installed a 40,000 BTU heater.
Yeah that aint a typo

Having to mix and match parts.
My 1969 engine didnt have any power steering,AC etc.
We found 2 different 318s that we swiped pulleys etc.
Just now i ordered a shim kit for the crankshaft pulley.
We will have to cut the inner wheelwell a bit.
And there is a small amount of welding involved for the upgrade.
I am right at $500 now
The only things still needed (i think)
Are new belts and fluid

I have decided that i only need the two lower upholstered cots and the other backrest.
There is already one backrest to use as a template.
Replacing the steel that someone cut out will be the hardest part.
And even that doesnt look all that tough.
I have found od canvas or vinyl for the seats
Its just a hunk of plywood and a metal frame.
I am thinking old bed frames will work great and be cheap.

That's great! I have fun with the old Armstrong steering, but I am definitely planning to do power steering and hydro assist on my big swamper truck. It'll make it easier on me and the steering wheel, as well as take a lot of stress off the driver's side knuckle

All original is fantastic for car shows (i dont like entering anyway)
And internet bragging rights.
But give me something that isnt a traffic hazard and can get out of its own way anytime.
I have owned bone stock vintage jeeps and speak from experience

With the 63 willys jeep I was always afraid of getting rear ended on a corner driving around.
That was the main reason I sold it.
(Still kicking myself)
But every time I get in the m43b1 i thank my lucky stars the previous owner swapped a modern engine in it.
Top speed is still 45mph but at least i can tool up any hill without downshifting.
Minimum legal speed is 40mph

Man it's gonna feel good to rip out 51 years worth of crappy splices!
