I think of that as "hood welt".

Before installing the lace find some color matching GE II silicone sealant and work all into the fibers of the welting. Remove excess and hang up until cured. Then install. The welting will last much longer.

Has anyone come up with a modern replacement for this? Rubber hood gasket material?
M37s are HMMWV in my world!

Do you use any adhesive when installing these?

pulled and reused the tiny pins for my cowl lace. NV

I can´t deduce where is that part, maybe I don't have it installed.

It is on the cowl under where the back of the hood sits. It is on the cab. Supposed to seal between the hood and the cab.
