Also forgot I made a new battery box lid, which can be seen in the first picture. and little hinged arm like the original I think, to hold it up. Changed oil and filter and checked oil pressure with manual gauge since there are no gauges in the truck at this time. Was 40 psi and let run until warm so was pretty happy with that.

A little progress is better than complete standstill. I always find it hard to get truck stuff accomplished during the summer months.

Well.. Very true here to. Lot goes on, I am Transportation supervisor for a local electric utility, 450+ trucks, My wife runs our family pool an property maintenance, business with 11 vehicles, just finished building my youngest sons house this past spring. Was my second whole house for my 2 boys in last 6 years. I did allot one beach evening a week all summer so to enjoy the summer.. did i mention 4 grand children??
Now 2 weeks in outer banks on vacation, then back to remodeling my 20 year old house. New Kitchen addition !! LOL. I Layed all the block before vacation, so when get home will start framing... woo hoo. :D and maybe, just maybe fit some old Dodge time in there..
I have no idea why anyone would be bored retired!!

well moving forward slowly. Got all the floor panels and tunnel painted and installed. Got the seats apart and have the foam and covers to fix them. Also started on wiring. All new switches, turn signal lights etc. Also redid instrument cluster with packard connector gauges since the whole truck will be those. Wired up all the sending units and fed into cab, just hooked to instrument panel yet.
Worked on the doors most recently. Replaced the the door checks. was a little pain as part of the old check spring bracket was still welded inside the door. But managed to get them out and new ones installed. i have a few pics I'll post in next couple days.
To add to project list we just bought a 1968 M543A2. wanted one for a long time and finally found the right one.

Hi everyone.been long time since had chance to get on. Not made much progress on the M37. Just renewed tags for it realized Ive had it 2 years :shock: Here are a few pictures where i replaced the door catch. Both doors were the same with it all tore up and missing. The hardest part was getting the old brackets from inside the door as they are welded in. I made a long chisel out of flat bar which helped some and used the angle grinder to sand away most of the metal. inside the door. Then i drilled 2 holes to be able to plug weld the bracket in place. Welding inside the door would be tough. After plug welding, just sanded smooth, ready for primer

Here is where I fixed the threads for the inside door panel cover. Several holes had the little threaded sqaures pulled out. I just made new ones and welded in place.

Battery box lid was missing. Here is new one i made with little arm to hold up. Since that picture Ive replaced the battery terminals with the permanent ones, used those at time cause had them.

Not an M37 but cool truck anyway. Just got it this past spring, like the M37 have had no time to work on it. It runs and everything works. Just needs lots of little things including painting like most MVs do. Its a 1967 M543A2 wrecker
